Payment reminders for quotes sent as draft orders in Shopify
Many shops send quotes as draft orders: you build the order in the admin, choose Send invoice, and the customer gets a link to complete the purchase. Then nothing happens, and the quote quietly goes stale.
When a quote is ready to chase
A draft you have not sent is still a quote being written; a reminder would be premature. Once you send the invoice, Shopify marks the draft as Invoice sent, and that date is the one to count from.
How often
A week is a fair first wait for a quote, longer than for an order already placed: the customer is still deciding. Two or three reminders in all, each one plain: the quote number, the amount, the link to complete it, and an easy way to ask a question.
Resending from Shopify
Open the draft order and choose Send invoice again. You can change the message each time. Keep a note of the first date you sent it: Shopify shows the latest send, not the first.
